what is computer science ?
PC science (English: Computer Science), universally referred to as the study of both computing, hardware (hardware) and software (applications). Computer science covers a wide range of computer-related topics, from algorithms to more concrete subjects such as programming languages, software and hardware. As a scientific discipline, PC Science places more emphasis on PC programming, and software engineering (applications), while PC methods are more likely to be related to things like PC hardware (hardware). However, these two terms are often misinterpreted by many people.
The Church-Turing thesis reports that all computing devices that are universally known are actually the same in terms of what they can do, albeit with different efficiencies. This thesis is sometimes considered the bottom principle of computer science. Computer science experts generally emphasize von Neumann computers or Turing machines (computers that perform small, deterministic tasks at any given time), because such things are the majority of computers in use today. Computer scientists are also working on other types of machines, some of which cannot be used practically yet (such as neural computers, DNA computers, and quantum computers) and some of which are still quite theoretical (such as random computers and oracle computers).
Computer science studies what programs can do, and what they can't (computability and artificial intelligence), how programs should evaluate an outcome (algorithms), how programs should store and retrieve certain bits of data (information structures), and how the program and the user speak (user interface and programming language).
Computer science has its roots in electronics, mathematics and linguistics. In the last 3 decades of the 20th century, computer science has become a new discipline and has developed its own rules and designations.
The initial pc science ministry was established at Purdue University in 1962. Almost all universities today have a pc science ministry.
The highest award in pc science is the Turing Award, the winners of this award are all pioneers in their fields.
Edsger Dijkstra says:
PC science is not about computers any more than astronomy is not about telescopes
Physicist Richard Feynman said:
PC science is not as old as physics; several hundred years younger. That doesn't mean, though, that the PC scientist's "meal" is much less than that of physicists. Younger indeed, but brought up much more intensively!
